1841 Map of Canaan
This weekend was my 12th birthday and I received this beautiful antique map of Canaan. Canaan is the modern day area of Israel, Jordan, Lebannon, Egypt and the south-east coast of the Mediterranean. Anyway, the map was engraved and published in London by G. F. Cruchley in 1841 as well as additions to 1850. The map depicts ‘The land of Promise’ that very land which God so often promised in His word to the Jewish people as an eternal possession (ICEJ The land of Promise) and is divided across the 12 Jewish tribes; Judah, Simeon, Dan, Benjamin, Reuben, Gad, Manasseh, Zebulon, Naphtali, Issachar, Asher and Ephraim. I also depicts the original kingdoms and countries mentioned in the Jewish Bible.
